Do I get to pick the background for my student’s photo?

Answer: We have thought about this question a lot, because we know that many of you have been serviced by a school photography company that allowed you to choose your background in the past. After some personal consideration, we decided that when we take your child’s photo, it shouldn’t be about all the bells-and-whistles, it should simply be a portrait of you child to freeze this season of your child’s life. We feel that photographing your child in a simple manner will highlight who they are now.

Along with that, background choices were an up-sale, meaning that you had to buy a package to pick one. Not all families can afford packages, and while not all of those that order might want a different backdrop, we hope to keep from highlighting families that might not be able afford a school picture package. So for Fall Photos all students will be photographed on ONE background, BUT you will have background options for Spring Portraits. :)

So, if I don’t get to pick my background, what color is it anyway?

Answer: The truth is that EVERYONE looks good in BLUE! Kiddos with red hair, kids with blue eyes, kids with green eyes, it looks great with most outfits.

Can I order Al La Carte items without ordering a package?

Answer: YES!

My kid NEVER brings these order forms home! I didn’t realize it was picture day, can I still order?!

Answer: Yes! You can still order!

I missed Tux & Drape Portraits at school! Can I still order!?

Answer: Yes! You can still order!

What does the add-on “Retouching” entail?

Answer: Retouching is for any blemishes that your kid might have, acne and the sort. What it doesn’t include is any advanced retouching like teeth whitening, braces removal, “slimming” etc. And though we’ve been asked nearly 1,000 times, this also does not include any SnapChat filters. ;)

I really don’t like my kid’s picture, what do I do?

Answer: We do try our very best to get the best possible out come for each child, but some days they are sleepy, they may have gotten something on their shirt just before they go to our station, or they just wouldn’t smile at the stranger behind the camera. There are a lot of reasons that your photo might not be flawless, and even though we give it 100% sometimes it just doesn’t work out perfectly.

There is already a scheduled Retake Day at each school that your student can participate in and have your package replaced free of charge. You can also bring them to our studio in Pomeroy for an In-Studio Retake Day.

In-Studio retake days are a great way for your to be able to come down with your child and pick your photo in person. You can have as long as you want to get the perfect image. :)

My kid was sick/had a spider bite on his lip/got hit by a baseball on Picture Day. What do I do?!

Answer: There is already a scheduled Retake Day at each school that your student can participate in, and you can also bring them to our studio in Pomeroy for an In-Studio Retake Day.

I turned in my order the day after picture day, but I didn’t receive my picture package with the rest of the school.

Answer: In order to keep up with the pace at which we are photographing schools, we have made it a rule for ourselves to order picture packages the same day that they are photographed. Late orders, including ones turned into the office after we leave for the day, are all entered together at the end of the week. Late orders will usually arrive on the Friday of the following week.

Can I order a CD or a digital copy without purchasing a package?

Answer: Yes, but only online: barteeschools.com/fall/pay

Can I see my picture before I order it?

Answer: As of right now we don’t have an avenue for you to see your photo online before you order it. BUT we do have a very generous Retake policy and ultimately we want you to be happy. If you want to order, please go ahead and do so! And if you are unhappy with your photo then we would be glad to have you down to the studio on In-Studio Retake Day to be sure the you LOVE it.

Along with that, each student (beginning in Second Grade) get to see their photo after it is taken. For younger kids we also ask their teacher what they think of the photo. All Middle and High School students approve their photo before they even leave. :)

If I order online, do I still need to send in an order form?

Answer: Nope. ;)

“Are there Retake-Days for Sports Photos?”

Unfortunately, we don’t offer Retake Days for Sports Pictures. Especially for big teams, if your athlete is not included in one group photo, the likelihood of another athlete being absent on Retake Day is just as likely. If you’re looking for only an individual photo of your athlete, it’s possible for them to get a photo during the next season’s picture day.
